Privacy Policy
This website tells you about Northwoods Ventures LLC and lets you send us a message. We collect as little as we can, we don't sell it, and there are no ads or advertising cookies here.
What we collect
- Messages you send us. The contact form asks for your name, email address, message and, if you choose, your company and a topic. When you send it, we receive it by email so we can reply. It isn't kept in a database.
- Bot check. When you start using the form, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you're a person and not a bot. It looks at information from your browser and device, and we pass your IP address to Cloudflare with the result. We also count messages per IP address for an hour to stop floods; that count is held briefly in memory and not stored.
- Page views. We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, from our hosting provider. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't store your IP address. It tells visits apart with a code made from each request, which is discarded after 24 hours, and gives us only totals: pages viewed, the site that referred you, device, operating system and browser type, and approximate location.
- Server logs. Like any website, our hosting provider receives your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, and keeps them in short-lived logs used to run and secure the site.
We don't set cookies ourselves.
How we use it
- To read and reply to your message.
- To keep the site and the form secure and free of spam.
- To understand overall traffic to the site.
We don't sell your information or share it for advertising.
Who processes it for us
- Vercel: hosting, the contact form's server, and page-view counting (Vercel Web Analytics privacy).
- Cloudflare: the bot check (Turnstile privacy addendum).
- Postmark: delivers your message to our inbox.
- Google Workspace: our email, where messages are kept.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to a successor if Northwoods Ventures LLC is sold or merges.
How long we keep it
Messages stay in our email for as long as they're useful for the conversation and our business records, or until you ask us to delete them.
Your choices
To see, correct or delete what you've sent us, send a message through the contact form and we'll respond within 45 days. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; this site works without them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
